Cat 6 Terminations – 500 +
Cat6 cable contains four pairs of copper wire, just like Cat5; however, Cat6 cable utilizes all four pairs. Cat6 will support speeds up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) known as Gigabit Ethernet and supports communications at more than twice the speed of Cat5e cable , the other popular standard for Gigabit Ethernet cabling. An enhanced version of Cat6 called CAT6a supports up to 10 Gbps speeds.
Fibre Terminations/ Splicing
Terminating fibre optic cables is a complex and specialised process, the optical fibres are connected to terminal equipment by optical fibre connectors, which are usually FC, SC, ST, or LC, type connection. We connect the the optical fibres to the connectors by splicing, this is done with a special instrument too known as a fusion splicer.
The complexity of this process makes fibre splicing much more difficult than splicing copper wire, the splices are designed to be quicker to install, but there is still the need for stripping, careful cleaning, and precision cleaving.
As fibre cable carries 10 Gbps speeds, it is ideal for schools, public buildings, and office environments with a requirement for high speed broadband and VoIP applications.
Mulitpair Telephone Cable Terminations
Multipair/ Multicore cable can come in 2 pair right up to a thousand, most common are 10 pair, 20 pair, 50 pair, and 100 pair cable. They are supplied in internal, external, and armoured. Designed for telephone cable applications, both indoor and outdoor.
